'Chance to own slice of dream island'
A NEWPORT entrepreneur is offering people the chance to own their own piece of a beautiful dream island.
Mike Cosgrove was featured in the 'Advertiser' in June after launching his own website, dontbeaplonker.com to help remind people of forthcoming birthdays and anniversaries by sending out emails ahead of important dates.
The site also specializes in in offering unusual gift ideas to help make those important dates all the more special, and now, Mike has teamed up with Tamworth based Dream Island Ltd to launch a unique promotion - the chance to own a share of the beautiful 40 acre island of Sgarabhaigh in the Sound of Harris in the Western Isles of Scotland.
Mike said "We try to offer something a bit different but this has to be our most unusual gift yet. Sgarabhaigh is a picturesque place and it's a real chance to escape the rat race if only for a few days a year.
"It really is a gift you'd never forget, so it ties in nicely with what we are trying to do with the site. Hopefully we can help make forgetfulness a thing of the past."
The island is a haven for wildlife including seals, whales and dolphins, and a favourite spot for ramblers and bird-watchers.
The package Mike's site offers includes a variety of unusual gifts including phials of local sand and peat in a solid oak casket, DVD, official wax seal with the island crest to secure letters and a Sgarabhaigh Gaelic passport to document visits and provde evidence of rights of access.
Mike can also offer the people of Newport two for one deals on a variety of leisure pursuits, and advertising for businesses willing to offer such deals with his new site www.enjoy241.co.uk .
