The written texts related to the Scottish Highlands and Islands are endless. In order to give you the opportunity to at least sample some of the key texts I have included a bibliography, kindly provided by Charles Tait, an author and photographer, who has written and illustrated several books on the Scottish islands. The texts given are by no means exhaustive but the do focus on the Western Isles and should provide enough material to challenge even the most avid reader.
